Kingdom Hearts then released in North America six months later after its first introduction with some additional contents.

Kingdom Hearts is also called a crossover of various Disney properties based in a fictional universe. For example, Donald Duck and Goofy (artificial intelligence controlled by non-playable characters) which come from Disney character is Sora’s teammate to stop an evil force known as Heartless. Kingdom Hearts is all about Sora, Donald, Goofy traveling to different worlds based on multiple Disney movies in searching Mickey and Riku. This game series consists of thirteen games and it is available for multiple platforms. Along with that, this game takes you to the iconic Disney world, such as Agrabah, Wonderland, and Halloween Town.


Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game (RPG) combined with hack-and-slash elements. The game progress follows a linear progression, which means it jumps from one story event to the next one. The story events are shown in a form of cutscenes, like any other action role-playing games such as Devil May Cry, God of War, and Bayonetta. The side quests are also available in Kingdom Hearts to provide an extra bonus for the characters. Interestingly, Kingdom Hearts combined characters from both Disney and Square Enix characters. Some new characters are designed and created by the creator itself, Nomura. It also features many worlds from Disney movies.

Most of the gameplay is played through the main protagonist, Sora. Sora is accompanied by Donald Duck and Goofy, Disney characters. They are artificial intelligence non-playable characters that aim to aid Sora in various battles. Since Square Enix also developed Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts inherits many of its gameplay elements like the party system experience. The character development determines with the experience point it gains after defeating enemies. The more level it has, the more abilities unlocked. With the party system, the experience gained is shared equally with the party members. It takes time to grow all the party member’s levels.

If you just played Kingdom Hearts, you may wonder what was the meaning of reconnect Kingdom Hearts at the end of the story (if you have finished the secret ending). You may confuse if you just play one of the Kingdom Hearts series or play the newest one. However, it is not a new thing for veteran players who play the game from the very first. Actually, reconnect Kingdom Hearts showed up in almost every secret endings of the Kingdom Hearts series. Literally, the phrase may mean the ultimate objective of the game: to reconnect and save the Kingdom Hearts. However, fans are formulating their own theory for the phrase.

Spoiler alert, the phrase may mean that Sora did not actually die in Kingdom Hearts 3. It is maybe another way of saying “to be continued”. So, maybe Square Enix wants to say that “a new game is on its way”. However, it is just a theory since Square Enix has not informed anything up to now. You can play all of the Kingdom Hearts series to prove that the phrase is indeed appear on the ending scene.
